Description

Character Idea, I was looking at war goggles for some random reason, Thought it would be a cool idea for a character, and Then I added a camera to the side of them, The idea was just for some fun and practice. Lighting always plays a big part in my digital painting, the sketch for the tattoo messed up and took a while to get right but I created a new layer to add it on to her skin.

The goggles are vintage war goggles, and So I thought I'd add a cam on the side to make them look more futuristic. I used. COREL PAINT 12 and Jasc to edit with lighting, Added some noise to the image to give it a nicer feel, used oil paint brushes and pencils for the coloring.

The idea was just to keep it simple and work on something old and new, using old war goggles image reference. -

And mixing it up with a hi-tech futuristic night vision cam. I didn't really want to add any more props to the piece, the tattoo added character to the girl, making her look like she's a bit more bad - ass then just some some pretty red/pink head girl. :)

Because it have made a deep impression in me, I decided to analyze it a little bit more. First of all, I love how you mix realistic drawing with fantasy(I refer to to her eyes and her nose.) The red hair and that look on her eyes makes her more aggressive, so these two are already loyal with the title of this artwork. I always admired artists, who can make colorful works(maybe because of I'm not really good in color-art). I know that there is no perfect in this world, but your technique is very impressive. Great shading technique(I especially like how you've done the highlights). Am I wrong or those lips were inspired by Angelina Jolie? <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/> Just from my point of view, I found her left shoulder a little bit too rectangular and the perspective distortion between the two the two arms(shoulders) is too much. But this is only my observation and I tell you this only because I want to help you. Great work! I really like it.
